Contest November 2010

For this month, I thought it would be festive to make holiday eggless cookies. You may make any kind of cookie as long as no eggs are in the recipe. I look forward to see your creations!

Check out my recipe for whole wheat almond eggless cookies as an example.

Below is my checklist:

  • Ingredients should be listed with measurements.
  • Method must be explained clearly, so it’s easy to follow.
  • Be Creative!
  • Search the web for ideas. There are many resources available.
  • Please send me a detailed recipe to contest@manjulaskitchen.com.
  • You must also send original picture(s) of the recipe – do not simply grab a photo from the web. Otherwise your recipe will not be considered for entry.
  • The deadline is November 21st.
  • The winner will be featured on the homepage with the new recipe and a link to their website (if available).

1st Prize: $50 gift certificate from Amazon.com
2nd Prize: $25 gift certificate from Amazon.com

  1. I like all of these recipes and I mean no harm to any of the contestants who participated but I’ve worked in a bakery for many years and cater on the side. None of these recipes seem to come close to being original. Everyone of them can be found in most cookbooks / any cookbook anywhere. In past months contests – people made original recipes and creations. None of these seem to do that. Manjula’s page says to search the web for ideas but copying? The eggless macaroon recipe (again, I mean no disrespect) is available in two different cookbooks that I have in my own kitchen. It’s a very common holiday cookie recipe. If these were based on creativity – I wouldn’t know what to do. At least the rolled cookie that was white and chocolate looked to be a homemade / self done photo.

    1/2 cup Butter

    1 tbsp Nuts

    Method

Mix all the flour baking pwder

    Mix Sugar and Butter

    Add dry ingredient

Make balls falt it with hand

    decorate with nuts

Bake in preheat oven 300 deg for 15 min

    Tips

All oven are different check it accordingly

Any Flour can be replaced by the available flour

  3. Me too! I’m glad you are still doing this contest, Manjula! My wheels are turning in my head. I think I know what I want to make, just need to get busy in the kitchen to test it out.
