Hello Manjula aunty,
How are you doing?
I have been visiting your website lately and wanted to try the Whole Wheat Almond Eggless Cookies. I love your website and your recipes.
I want to substitute sugar with splenda or sweet & low, what should I do? Please advise.
Thanks,
Hi Sonal,
I have never tried with splenda, try it and let us know, usually I find splenda little more sweet then sugar, instead using 1/2 cup sugar try with 1/3 cup splenda and use little more cardamom because that hides the smell and after taste effect. Good luck!
Well yours is a very good site.It definitely makes one want to cook.
Hi aunty,
I tried the cookies they turn out yum… just one question…. mine didn’t come out chewy as chocolate chip cookies, instead they are crispy(not hard). though I like the textute, I just want to confirm how they shld be chewy or crispy… please let me know….
Thanks….
Nusrat,
These cookies should be crispy.
Thanks for the reply… My kids are loving these cookies….I will make them often…. Thanks a lot for such a good recipe…..
Can we substitute any other nuts instead of almonds?
Swathi,
Yes you can try with different nuts, I use sometime walnuts.
Thanks for your reply
hello Manjula Aunty,
today i tried your cookies recipe but they came out very hard. i don’t know what went wrong. maybe i kept it a little longer like 4 to 5 minutes more than your timming because i want to make it alittle brownish in colour. i used swad whole wheat flour. please tell me what was wrong in my method.
Neena, you overcooked the cookies. Remove them from the oven just when the edges start to darken slightly. They will firm up as they cool once removed from the oven. If they have browned on top, they’re already overbaked and will be hard.
hello Jaya,
thanks a lot for your reply. next time when i’ll try i’ll take out the cookies little earlier. i was already thinking that maybe Manjula Aunty gets the time or not but you are going to definitely reply my problem because you always reply others also. great job Jaya!!!!
thank again!
a little personal question, are you Manjula aunty’s daughter?
LOL – no, we are not related and actually we have never met. I have been cooking and baking for a long time and it’s hard to resist replying to questions/problems. Hope the next batch of cookies turns out well!
